Meet Barry, James, Sasha & Stormie
Clark’s Barks was created from something very simple — our love of dogs.
I’m Barry, and I live with my husband James and our two German Shepherds, Sasha and Stormie. Our dogs are a huge part of our lives. They’re not simply pets — they’re members of our family.
That love for our own dogs is at the heart of Clark’s Barks Dog Walking Services and the way I care for every dog entrusted to me.
🐕 How Clark’s Barks Started
My love of animals eventually inspired me to turn that passion into something I could do every day.
I started Clark’s Barks Dog Walking Services to offer something personal — a local service where dogs aren’t simply another booking in the diary.
Living with Sasha and Stormie has shown us just how different every dog can be. They each have their own personalities, routines, likes and dislikes, and I believe the dogs I care for deserve that same individual understanding.
Whether a dog is confident and energetic, nervous or reactive, getting older and needing a gentler pace, or simply happiest having somebody all to themselves, I aim to adapt their walks and care around them.
💚 A Family-Run Approach
Although you’ll usually see me, Barry, out doing the walks, Clark’s Barks is very much part of our family life.
My husband James, along with Sasha and Stormie, has been part of the journey behind the business, and they’re a huge part of why Clark’s Barks exists today.
When somebody trusts me with their dog, I understand that they’re trusting me with a member of their family — and that’s a responsibility I take seriously.
🎓 Knowledge, Education & Development
My passion for dogs goes beyond simply walking them. I’m committed to continually developing my knowledge of animal care, canine behaviour and wellbeing.
I have completed Principles of Animal Care and I’m continuing my education by progressing towards diplomas in Canine Behaviour, with the goal of developing my knowledge and skills as a Canine Behaviour Practitioner.
I believe understanding why dogs behave the way they do is an important part of providing good care. Every dog communicates differently, and continuing my education helps me better understand the individual dogs entrusted to me.
Alongside my studies, owning and caring for Sasha and Stormie gives me hands-on experience with dogs every day.
